Getting Started with Solana

Solana is a fast, low-fee blockchain that uses Proof-of-History (PoH) and Proof-of-Stake (PoS) to process thousands of transactions per second, making it ideal for scalable decentralized applications.

1. Create a Wallet

Step1.png

Let's get you started with a crypto wallet, specifically one that can interact nicely with various on-chain applications. Two of the most popular options as of 2024 are Phantom Wallet and Solflare

The wallets can be utilized as a browser extension and mobile app! Ensure your browser is up to date.

Tip:

When setting up your wallets, ensure you have your passphrases are NOT saved on a digital device. It's better to write it down and store in a safe place!

2. Deposit SOL

Step12 (1).png

Once you've set up your wallet, you'll need to deposit some Solana (SOL) so that you're able to transfer funds and utilize apps.

Both wallets make it easy to purchase SOL directly from your preferred payment methods. Open your wallet and select "Buy".

Luckily, you dont need too much SOL since most transactions cost less than $0.01! We recommend having at least 0.03 SOL

3. Try Your First Token Swap

Go ahead and try swapping SOL for LABS on either Jupiter, or Raydium

These are some of the most trustworthy DEXs (Decentralized Exchanges) that offer great speed and execution. They are rather self-explanatory for new users, except for Meteora
